Cysticercus Antibody IgG Tape Worm

Description

Test Cysticercosis is a parasitic infection caused by the ingestion of Taenia solium eggs.Taenia is a genus of parasitic tapeworms that infect animals, including humans. These eggs can develop into cysticerci, which are fluid-filled sacs containing the larval stage of the tapeworm. Cysticercosis can affect various organs in the body, including the brain, muscles, eyes, and other tissue.

If these eggs are ingested by an appropriate intermediate host, typically a herbivorous animal such as a pig or a cow, the life cycle continues. Inside the intermediate host, the eggs hatch, and the larvae migrate to various tissues, where they form cysticerci. Cysticerci are fluid-filled sacs containing the larval stage of the tapeworm.

If a human consumes raw or undercooked meat contaminated with cysticerci, they can become the definitive host for Taenia, and the life cycle is completed. The tapeworm develops in the human intestine, and the cycle can continue if the tapeworm releases eggs that are then passed in the feces.
