Luteinizing Hormone (LH) is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland that plays a key role in regulating testosterone production in men. It signals the testes to produce testosterone, making it a direct indicator of how well your hormonal axis is functioning. Low LH levels may suggest pituitary or hypothalamic dysfunction, while high LH with low testosterone can point to primary testicular failure. Measuring LH helps determine whether low testosterone is due to a production problem or a regulatory issue. It’s especially useful when evaluating symptoms like fatigue, low libido, infertility, or when considering testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
